A Bit of Truth

A Bit of Truth

What to write, what to write? My dear readers my brain is a fog of sinus congestion, sleeplessness and concern over our son. We have very likely endured the worst month on record and I’m afraid I’m fresh out of witty things to say. So here is what I know for sure!

God is faithful.
His mercies are new every morning.
He gives us grace to endure.
He desires His character to be born in us.
Complaining about your current situation will not change it.
Feeling sorry for yourself will not help.
Being vigilant is hard work.
Persevering is hard work.

ALL of it will be worth it in the end.

We know that God causes ALL things to work together for good for those who LOVE Him and are called according to His purpose.

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (II Corinthians 9:8)

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. (Romans 8:26-27)

No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, not any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39)

And that’s all I have to say about that…fortunately, God has a lot more to say if you care to read His Word!!

I'm so thankful that truth can overcome all of these things. I have spent most of my week meditating on God's faithfulness in the midst of "trials and tribulations" and have been encouraged by his truth. I have prayed with my tears so often this week I'm not sure whether there are any tears left - and yet, I have an overwhelming sense of God's goodness and control in the midst of the fight. Thanks for reminding me, again, that God is greater than anything that comes my way!!

Amen to these truths! Lord, strengthen Lani and Kelly in this time. Turn their eyes towards you in every circumstance. Heal their bodies. Sharpen their spirits. Give them hope to carry on.
